How
Acupuncture can help you?
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has a proven
successful history of over 5000 years in China. It has two major components in
its curing technique: one is acupuncture, and the other is usage of herbs.
Today, it is still widely used all over the world with increasingly more
believers simply because it works.
The basic theory of TCM is to cure the root problem of your illness by bringing your health in balance. In other words, your own body is curing your own illness. For example, if you have headache which is caused by the heat of your liver, we will nourish and cool down your liver. Even though TCM is ancient with many years of experience, the methodology is simple and natural.
What
is Acupuncture and how does it work?
In our body, we know that
blood is circulating through the vessels. In TCM, we believe there is another
very important element flowing - the invisible “Qi” (pronounced Chee), which
you can call power or energy. It travels through the 12 meridians of our body,
pushing everything, including blood and even bad substances, to move and
circulate properly. Once the “Qi” is weakened or stagnated in certain areas of
our body, bad substances accumulate and cause pain and illness.
Meridians are like channels where there are
many pumping spots known as acupoints along each meridian. Stimulating the
acupoints is like turning the pump on. Our body’s physical condition can be
strengthened and balanced by our own body.
Therefore, by stimulating the acupoints, we not only cure our illness
and pain, but are also able to promote and harmonize our health.
Acupuncture is a technique which uses a hair-thin, sterile and disposable metallic needle to penetrate and stimulate the acupoint for treatment and health care. Very often the procedure is painless or with just a slight stimulation feel. The needle will remain in the body for about 20 minutes.
Why Acupuncture?
What
is Chinese herbal medicine and how does it work?
Chinese herbal medicine uses
dried plants as medicine for the cure.
Each herb has its own unique curing function. Normally, we formulate
several herbs together which is tailored fit to each individual patient’s
physical condition for certain kind of illness. The herbs will be boiled before
drinking. Because herbs are fundamentally vegetables, it is safe and natural
with mostly no side effects. It is very effective in aligning with acupuncture
but the taste may not be appealing to everyone.
